Immerse yourself in the beauty of Malaysia and its culture. Journey through traditional villages and view breathtaking scenery whilst sampling the exquisite and differing cuisine. Kota Bharu, meaning 'New City', is the state capital and Royal City of Kelantan. As an Islamic state it has a unique style of traditional architecture and an interesting cultural identity all of its own. Spending time in this rarely visited part of Malaysia will allow you to experience the delicious food, fascinating museums and warm and friendly hospitality.

Day 1 - London Departure

Depart London Heathrow for international flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur arrival

Meet and greet at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for a half day city tour of Kuala Lumpur. Drive through the lake gardens; with stops at the National Mosque and Independence Square. From there, take a short walk to Central Market, passing the convergence of the Gombak and Klang river at Masjid Jamek, one of the first buildings erected in Kuala Lumpur. Stroll through Chinatown, board the bus and proceed to Kampung Baru, a typical Malay area where most houses are still built in traditional Malay architecture. Our journey continues toward KLCC for a great photo shoot of one of the world's tallest twin towers.

Day 3 - Malacca

Breakfast at hotel. Depart for a full day tour of Malacca. Malacca is located 145km south of Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival in town see the ruins of the A Famosa fortress and the Dutch Square. then walk across the bridge over the Malacca River to stroll along the streets of old Malacca. Most of the old buildings have been renovated in respect of the original design and converted into curio shops. Visit the Baba Nyonya house museum and proceed for lunch. After lunch, see the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia (1645) and the Kampung Kling Mosque, the oldest mosque of Malacca. Proceed for a last stop to Bukit China (Chinese hill), the largest Chinese cemetery outside China before departing to Kuala Lumpur. Most of the visit is a walk about tour. (B,L)

Day 4 - Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bharu

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for flight to Kota Bharu. Pick up at the airport and depart for a comprehensive tour of Kota Bharu and the surrounding areas. Visit the famous Central Market, which is also the centrepiece of the city. The goods and produce are displayed in a colourful and orderly manner. Try your hand at bargaining and experience a traditional Malay lifestyle which hinges around the marketplace. Proceed to visit the Siamese temple which features an impressive reclining Buddha. Later check in to your hotel. (B)

Day 5 - Kota Bharu to Lake Kenyir

After breakfast we depart from Kota Bharu. Along the way we visit traditional Malay fishing villages which are renowned for their colourful architecture and boat building. We will have a chance to experience an ancient traditional way of living. The drive also features dramatic scenery along the coast of the South China Sea. Lunch in a traditional restaurant. Arrival in Lake Kenyir in the early afternoon and check in to your hotel. At 1500hrs, depart for a cruise on the lake. Lake Kenyir is located in the interior of the State of Terengganu. Visitors will be awed by the lake's sweeping landscape of scenic and natural grandeur. Its tranquillity and peaceful serenity makes Lake Kenyir the perfect getaway from the breakneck pace of city life. Aside from its own natural beauty, Lake Kenyir is also an important habitat for plants and wildlife. Fishes such as Kelah, Toman, and Baung roam freely in its unpolluted waters, and exotic wild species of orchids and other types of flora should forever arouse interest and invite discovery by the visitor. Day 6 - Lake Kenyir to Tanjong Jara

This morning we depart from Lake Kenyir and continue the visit of Kuala Terengganu nearby. After lunch depart for a cruise on the Marang River along the mangrove swamp river. Witness the traditional lifestyle of Terengganu villagers which includea a stop at one of the riverside villages to visit several cottage industries. After that transfer to Tanjong Jara and check in to resort. (B/L)

Day 7 - Tanjong Jara departure

Transfer to Kuala Terengganu airport for fight home. (B)

Day 8 - London Heathrow arrival

Arrival at London Heathrow. End of services.
